New Hampshire Magazine’s Best Places issue names Littleton, NH a “Town on the Rise”
We’re so thrilled that our charming town of Littleton, NH has been recognized by New Hampshire Magazine as a “Town on the Rise.” Their Best Places issue highlights New Hampshire cities and towns that have rebuilt and revitalized their downtown areas, breathing in new life after years of decline from recessions, mills moving south, and the boom of malls and online shopping.
The beautiful magazine spread showcases a handful of cities and towns that took charge of their futures through strong leadership, strategic use of resources, and a great deal of community spirit. Littleton’s River District is among areas highlighted within the piece, and our hearts swell with pride at this recognition for our beloved hometown.
“Maybe Littleton took a cue from Pollyanna, the irrepressibly optimistic little girl in the well-known children’s stories written by Littleton native Eleanor H. Porter. In the midst of the downtown, to mark Porter’s literary achievement, there’s a bronze statue of Pollyanna, arms flung wide, looking like she is welcoming all that is good.”
